It takes no time to make this awesome recipe! It will yield a little over 63 oz which is almost 2 liters. I like using the 750 ml bottles like the one pictures below. This will stay in the refrigerator approximately four weeks.

You will need a large container that will hold the following liquids:
1 can evaporated milk (12 fl oz)
2 cans sweetened condensed milk (14 fl oz)
1 can cream of coconut (15 oz)  Make sure this is not milk of coconut!
1 cup spiced rum (Haitian rum Barbancourt is the preferred choice but you can also use a rum like Captain Morgan)
Add the following graded spices to the above mixture:
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Add the following graded spices to the above mixture:
1 teaspoon vanila extract
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon organic almond extract
1 teaspoon star anise extract

Star anise extract is slightly different from anise extract. If you cannot find star anise you have two options:
Instead of using 1 teaspoon star anise, use 1/2 teaspoon anise extract
or
Grind up 2 star anise into a fine powder to make 1 teaspoon and add the powder to the Kremas.
Anise vs. Star Anise

Here are pictures of the ingredients you will need to make your Haitian Kremas. You can use any brand - these are just sample pictures to make it easier for you when you go shopping. The Almond and Vanilla extract are brands from Haiti that are exceptionally delicious tasting but any almond and vanilla extract you like will be great in this recipe. However, try to get the 5 Star Haitian rum and do not substitute it! You will not regret it. You can find it on-line and in bigger liquor stores.
